The Latest Poll Results...

The latest poll had asked readers if SAG should make it harder to join 55% said no while 44% said yes. My opinion is they should make it a "tad" harder and from the last background meeting SAG had given in April it sounds as they are going to do so. What that exactly means we would have to wait and see, for those that joined SAG recently congrats! For the people that are looking to join I would do so before the rules change. As always please direct your attention to the right for the new poll.

This is a interesting poll and it makes me want to follow up with a question for those who voted yes. Why do you think it should be harder and what do you think it should involve that makes it harder?

All potential members must pass through the Casting Couch!

This is really sad. The people already in SAG want to block others from joining. Sounds like immigrants in the USA who don't want other immigrants coming!

I would hope that if some took the time to vote and said yes it should be harder, that there will be some posts as to what that should consist of.

I think all new SAG members should undergo a SAG training course in addition to their vouchers. They will become better members.

I'm really surprised that there aren't any real comments left with opinions about how it should be harder. If you think it should be harder, what should be added or changed?

People agreeing to work and not showing up.

I was on a project yesterday (Mall Cop) which was a nice experience and worked with nice people. What amazed some people is that there were a few no-shows, what I had said to them is don't be too surprised because this happens more than you think. When that happens that screws a lot of people up first the production because they are expecting their numbers for that day, and people that actually wanted to work that day. So if you can't make it on that project for any reason please call the casting director the day prior so they can fill in your spot. It's the best thing you can do in that situation to still be good with the casting directors and the production.

Are future films in jeporady because of looming strike?

Studio might be down..but not out.

Ok...so we got the bad news this week that the studios in Plymouth lost it's funding. Ok that is bad but I have a feeling that it might turn around quicker than one is to think, but we will have to wait and see. Once the news got out... some people were acting as all of hope is lost...are you serious?!? have you not seen what has happened to the state in regards to the film business in the past 4 years?!!? We are not doing all that bad, the studios weren't here when the huge and current flow of films continue to overflow our NE area/market. If anyone out there remembers the distant past we would be lucky if we had a film here for over a week...for the YEAR! At that time the constant project that was going on was in the late 80's which was "Spencer For Hire". Now the studios I believe will happen, because I strongly believe that they have great focus on the future of this project and MA is very Hollywood friendly as of late.
