I get e-mails weekly as to where is the best place to submit themselves for future crew work. The best place I know of is is Central Booking, for a fee they will have you on file for future jobs. Always keep in mind once you get used and you are good enough, your phone will continue to be ringing. Keep on with it once you do deal with them. for more info go to their website.

People agreeing to work and not showing up.

I was on a project yesterday (Mall Cop) which was a nice experience and worked with nice people. What amazed some people is that there were a few no-shows, what I had said to them is don't be too surprised because this happens more than you think. When that happens that screws a lot of people up first the production because they are expecting their numbers for that day, and people that actually wanted to work that day. So if you can't make it on that project for any reason please call the casting director the day prior so they can fill in your spot. It's the best thing you can do in that situation to still be good with the casting directors and the production.

Are future films in jeporady because of looming strike?

Portions of the SAG strike my be resolved sooner than later.

What I have heard as of late is that the upcoming strike might not be as long as some people are projecting. Certain aspects have already been cleared. So, with that being said it might no be as long as a process as the previuos writers strike. I think that strike did so much damage that SAG probably does not want to go down that road but we will see.
