Open Call On Bruce Willis Film This Saturday!

CP Casting is holding an open call Saturday at Felt for “The Surrogates,” a Disney sci-fi flick starring Bruce Willis that begins shooting here in the spring. Tentative casting time is noon to 4 p.m. Stay tuned for further details.

People agreeing to work and not showing up.

I was on a project yesterday (Mall Cop) which was a nice experience and worked with nice people. What amazed some people is that there were a few no-shows, what I had said to them is don't be too surprised because this happens more than you think. When that happens that screws a lot of people up first the production because they are expecting their numbers for that day, and people that actually wanted to work that day. So if you can't make it on that project for any reason please call the casting director the day prior so they can fill in your spot. It's the best thing you can do in that situation to still be good with the casting directors and the production.

Are future films in jeporady because of looming strike?

That is a question really no one knows and is asked quite often. If there is a strike and it does last as long as the writers strike does, that will be a problem. But let's hope everything gets resolved by next month so the ongoing traffic of movies continues here in our very cool state. strike,

Studio might be down..but not out.

Ok...so we got the bad news this week that the studios in Plymouth lost it's funding. Ok that is bad but I have a feeling that it might turn around quicker than one is to think, but we will have to wait and see. Once the news got out... some people were acting as all of hope is lost...are you serious?!? have you not seen what has happened to the state in regards to the film business in the past 4 years?!!? We are not doing all that bad, the studios weren't here when the huge and current flow of films continue to overflow our NE area/market. If anyone out there remembers the distant past we would be lucky if we had a film here for over a week...for the YEAR! At that time the constant project that was going on was in the late 80's which was "Spencer For Hire". Now the studios I believe will happen, because I strongly believe that they have great focus on the future of this project and MA is very Hollywood friendly as of late.
