A possibility of movie studios here in BOSTON! Too good to be true?!

When the news came out yesterday about movie moguls coming to beacon hill on the possibility of building a movie studio in Plymouth. I almost choked on my popcorn! I have heard this rumor here and there but I didn't really imagine it was going to happen. Guys, if this goes through this will be the beginning of something very special. Think about the work this will come to this state, this place will officially be "Hollywood East". Gone will be the days of "when will they film here in Boston" or " All the projects are going to Canada" . With the way things have been since last January were looking pretty good! So cross you fingers everybody and pray for the best. .

I knowww! I practically live in Plymouth so i'm super excited. So does this mean there will now be two movie studio complexes coming to MA, both in South Weymouth AND Plymouth?!

That would be great! Even if we get 1 that would be amazing!

I am sooo excited about this. I live in Weymouth, 10 minutes from the Naval Air Base site, and Plymouth is only 1/2 hour away!!

Hollywood East here we go!!

I think the Gov. Patrick really needs to push on this prospect even more than the Casino issue. It is a central location if they are filming further north (Vermont, Maine, etc.). We have great film schools in the area so the studios would get their pick fresh from college to intern for them, Weymouth is so close to Boston so if the big wigs feel they need to stay @ the Four Season's...it's not that far away as well as the airport. The basic infurstructure is already in place in Weymouth, not Plymouth, the former hangers that housed the airplanes are huge, several years back Reebock shot a commercial there so it really is an ideal location. Either community can benefit from the studio so let's keep our fingers crossed!!!!!

This is incredible!!! I live in Boston, and feel the usage of such a studio would/could be of a HUGE asset to my current independent project that I am filming.

Would like to know more information, though, about the usage of such a studio.
