Don't Bother The Actors While Working On A Set.

I have been on many sets working and enjoying the opportunity of doing this on the side for the past 18 years. As some people know that have done this for sometime, the golden rule is not to talk to the actors. Look, when you are working on a movie set everyone there is just doing that and that is working. So when it comes to some "big time" actors they do not want to be bothered because they really have a responsibilty to hold a movie, simply leave them alone. But what amazes me is that there are times when people have the balls to go right up to the movie star and ask them "Hi, how are you doing? By the way how's your mother?!?!" who they heck in there right mind would do that! Amazingly enough the actress was kind and responded with a suttle "she's doing fine" and left it at that. But if she wanted to I am sure she could have been rude but she wasn't, which shows us what kind of person she is. Then there are those other actors / movie stars that don't like be looked at...come on get a life! So if no one is bothering the actor that's fine...but we can look at them from a distance? That is incredibly egotistical and a little bit annoying, were all human. There can be those rare moments which I have seen on many different occassions that the "movie stars" approach us and just start up a conversation. First it does feel a bit strange but again we are all human and it just become a brief regular coversation. So anything can happen. So when your on the set enjoy it, but always respect it.

Speaking of actors not liking to be looked at, I was an extra on a set in Boston and just happened to glance the way of a certain actress. Later the PA came over and told me not to stare at her. Well, the actress would be happy to know that I was only 'staring' because I did not know who she was! I thought she was just another extra! Next time I'm around her I'll wear blinders!

I was in the holding area of a certain set. Some of the stars came out between takes. One came over shook our hands and asked our names. Then later on during the day he was addressing us by our names. How cool was that! We did not approach him, he approached us. Is that okay?

He even let some people take photos with him. Great guy!
