People taking pictures on set..

This is starting to become a big problem on set as of late. As we all know when we start a job we are specifically told no cameras, among other things. This happens prior to booking and we are reminded prior to the working day. We all know that because it is just given that we know what the rules are. Now the conterversey is people are snapping shots of actors while on set while we are working. That is a huge no-no, but even more so those people are taking those shots and putting them on facebook, myspace, and twitter, that's just not smart. This is because the people that hire you and tell you the specific rules on set are also "your friends" on these social networks and now you are caught "red-handed". So be smart..you know clearly when you are on set you are working and they (the film) are expecting you to act professional. Remember you represent yourself and more so the acting community of NE.

This will continue to happen as they have these cattle call ,open calls for films. If Im not in the business and I do a day on set with Tom Cruise ,Cam Diaz you think Id care about taking a pick. Never mind picture ,what about worse things that could happen with any nutcase wanting to become infamous. They should do a BG check on the BG they get of the streets....

I think it depends on the set. The Grown ups set was really laid back. And yes of course you shouldnt take pictures while the cameras are rolling, but the crew didnt seem to mind an occasional photo in between shots or what not, and especially the last day, even Norm MacDonald was taking pics with people and such. We worked 2 1/2 weeks on the set and such and everyone became really close, most of the people knew not to take pics while the shots were rolling but in between takes it wasnt a big deal. I think it honestly depends on the set and the director, whether to do it or not. some directors are more open to it than others. I think Grown ups was an exception to the rule, I'd suggest not bringing a camera to most shoots and just enjoy the day. Also people should realize that its not about just seeing the actors, its a working day. You're going to have long grueling hours in hot sun, rain, snow , cold, whatever, be prepared for the elements!!! people.
